Devotional 9/4/2016

This reading from the other day really stood out to me and I wanted to share it with you all.

From Jesus Calling by Sarah Young…

I love how God is telling us to TRUST ME in the midst of a messy day. Messy days could be when we are least likely to trust in God, but He is clearly telling us to trust Him on those days. How many messy days we have had before.. These are days we may need God the most. We have to draw close and trust in Him those days especially.

He tells us our inner calm does not need to be shaken up by what is going on around us. We can stay calm and peaceful, and TRUST HIM that He has got in all under control.

When we get frustrated or anxious about what is going on in our lives, he reminds us that this world is temporary, and that we have a place in heaven for eternity.

He tells us to detach ourselves from the disturbances around us and stop trying to be perfect and in control of “our little world”. He says relax and remember that these circumstances cannot touch My Peace. God says “Can’t Touch This!” 😉 I had to! But seriously, He pulls a MC Hammer on us, and says these “messy days” and imperfect circumstances cannot touch the peace only He can provide.

If we draw close to Him and TRUST Him, He will share His mind with us. If we cling to him, He will share His thoughts and lay out His plans for us. He wants us to see things from His perspective, instead of our own. We see things at a temporary level, where God knows what eternity holds for us.

“Do not let your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid. The Peace I give is sufficient for you.”

What I take away from this is that we have to TRUST GOD. He has everything under control. He has our eternity all planned out. He wants us to draw close and cling to him. He wants us to find PEACE in Him.

Have a blessed week,

Amanda
